Our assessments meet rigorous scientific standards for both reliability and validity. SpiritPulse — backed by more than 20 years of research and validated on nearly 25,000 participants across 100+ institutions — demonstrates exceptional internal consistency (Cronbach's α = .94), with each of its 33 items tracking its full parent scale at an average of .85. SpiritPulse Extended, the 165-item version formerly known as the Spiritual Transformation Inventory, shows internal consistency from .75 to .94 across all 33 scales (mean = .87), with construct validity established through factor analysis, convergent and divergent validity against independent measures, and known-groups validity discriminating between spiritual exemplars and non-exemplars.
The Flourishing Pulse extends the same rigor to holistic well-being. Validated on 1,017 Christian undergraduate students, it pairs two independent measurement formats in a single administration — a rapid check-all-that-apply matrix and a 33-item Likert scale. Internal consistency reaches .84 across domains, with 8 of 12 core domains at .75 or above (the recently added Character and Virtue domain is currently undergoing validation), and factor analysis confirms a clean single-factor structure in 10 of 12. Domain scores correlate strongly with established well-being measures including the PERMA framework, life satisfaction, and overall meaning in life — and the same pattern of findings replicates across both measurement formats, evidence that the domain framework itself is capturing real and coherent constructs.
